Hannah Henson
Hannah’s process normally begins with photography, text or drawing. Gravitating towards conceptual film and sound as a means of expression. Her most recent works explore presence and absence both physically and emotionally. Through her biggest artistic inspiration, Sophie Calle, Hannah has learnt to explore loss in many different forms. She continues to explore the symbolism of objects and how they reflect memories, people, and absence. A growth from her fascination of edges ‘Edges are magic, too; there is a kind of forbidden magic on the borders of things’. The comparison of natural and urban structures/ surroundings. This has grown over time to the exploration of space. How do we define that space? What does the space mean? Why does it exist? And what purpose does it have?
