Adam Shailer

Adam is a media content creator and digital artist, specialising in generative digital art, abstract photography and motion graphics. He often combines digital techniques with old-school processes, taking work repeatedly back and forth between the digital and analogue spaces.

He uses photography less as a documentary medium and more to create space, geometry and symmetry; he also exaggerates the flaws of the ‘accidental’, distorting and degrading normally-discarded shots to turn them into abstract expressions of the digital medium. His multimedia work often focuses on viewer participation, responding to motion, sound and other inputs to drive visual and auditory installations.

In the past Adam has been a graphic designer, a web developer and a veejay. Currently, he is a senior technician and tutor at UWTSD, supporting the fine art programme’s digital content and overseeing media-related workshops across the faculty. He is also the main lead and technical administrator for swansea.art.
