Estella May Chambers
Throughout Estella’s time at UWTSD she has explored several media; clay, make-up, biro and paint just to name a few. Most often her work includes a text element. These sections tend to have strong psychological ties or link to a larger backstory. Estella tries to make work with a stronger meaning that could be interpreted differently by the viewer. Inspired by the lines of Emin and Calle, Estella is not afraid to put herself into her work- with most of her pieces starting out relating to her personal life. Her final work explores marriage in a modern setting, why it still exists and what it really means. Influenced by her dissertation about body positivity and self-love, Estella has created jewellery to symbolise marriage in relation to self-acceptance.
