Sarah Matthews
Sarah works with ceramics and photography, and uses the notion of narrative using symbolic interpretation within the visual. Using a means of expression within the implied image, her photographic exploration within the natural world alters perspective to infer a response within the audience.
Her artwork has evolved during her time at UWTSD; the knowledge she has accumulated from her study experience has enabled her to work, experiment and explore through a multiplicity of disciplines, from the 3 dimensional forms to the digital world.
Sarah’s more recent work has focused on photography and digital arts. Instilled from a young age and further advanced due to pandemic isolation, she has focused her attention to her immediate environment, featuring more work associated with hidden aspects of the natural world.
Her photography concepts explore and a play with perspective, angled positioning, natural framing, composition and depth of field to capture the quintessence of a moment.
