Kesia Tucker
Kesia Tucker is an artist from Bath, Somerset based in south Wales, currently studying fine art at UWTSD, working toward a multisensory level. She aims to explore different mediums and processes through sight, smell, and touch—whether that’s soaking willow, breathing in the scent of smoke, or hearing the snips of tidying a basket. For the act of making is just as important, if not more so, than the finished outcome. Their practice embraces a sense of magic and freedom, grounded in a ritualistic process of making and seeing—something akin to a personal religion or a way of being, entangled in the world around.
Weaving feelings and narratives into being, exploring different environments while sharing and connecting with others. The work is always driven by a desire to wonder, to observe closely, and to engage with foraged and grown materials, such as foraged colour or wild clay, blending them with this chosen medium of willow.
Being drawn to older ways of living, things being passed down and learning from these traditional methods that offer kind approaches to our environment, exploring how practices have evolved over time and how we can bend them into art culture.
