H Balicka

H Balicka is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice explores themes of dreams, abandonment, and the shifting terrain of the subconscious. Drawing inspiration from the experimental processes of the Surrealists, the absurdist writings of Samuel Beckett, and the archetypal theories of Carl Jung, Balicka creates works that encourage self-reflection and introspection.

Working across painting, printmaking, ceramics, and installation, Balicka approaches each medium as a means of uncovering hidden narratives and emotional residues. Their practice often embraces ambiguity and fragmentation, allowing imagery to emerge intuitively through process and material experimentation. Forest settings and trees recur throughout the work as symbolic landscapes of refuge and isolation, reflecting the collective unconscious experience. Through layered surfaces, organic forms, and atmospheric compositions, Balicka’s work invites viewers to get lost amongst leaves and one’s own thoughts.
